US President Joe Biden wrote to the newly elected members of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Zeljka Cvijanovic, Zeljko Komsic and Denis Becirovic, on the occasion of the country's Statehood Day.
In his letter, on behalf of the American people, Biden sent his best wishes to all three Presidency members and to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of the celebration of Statehood Day.
The United States strongly supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We call on BiH leaders to put aside their differences and work to build a better future for the people they represent – including quickly forming a government at all levels and enacting the reforms necessary to secure BiH's place in the Euro-Atlantic community of nations,” President Biden's letter states.
Further in the letter, he states that in the year ahead, he looks forward to strengthening the friendship between citizens of the two countries and deepening mutual cooperation – including security, energy diversification and the fight against corruption.
“The United States will continue to support peace, security and prosperity in BiH for all its citizens,” Biden concluded in his letter.
