Bosnia’s Service for Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA), and the Ministry of Interior of BiH’s Federation (FBiH) entity arrested an Afghan citizen believed to be an international organizer of human smuggling.
“For a long time already, the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, in cooperation with OSA, has taken all necessary operational measures and actions in BiH in order to find a person for whom information is available from international security authorities that he is one of the largest organizers of international a chain of human smuggling on the Western Balkan route,” the Service for Foreigner’s Affairs said.
It said that after the suspect, with the initials P.K., is handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office, he will be deported from BiH and will stay under surveillance in the Immigration Center until he is sent away.
“In the coming period, the Service, in cooperation with other competent both domestic and international security bodies, will undertake such and similar activities, which have the priority goal of detecting and preventing irregular migration and thus contributing to the protection of overall security of citizens in BiH,” the statement said.
