BiH Presidency Chair Denis Becirovic held a meeting with the ambassadors of the Quinte (the US, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy) at Becirovic’s invitation. It was also attended by the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Johann Sattler and the First Deputy High Representative in BiH, Jonathan Mennuti.
Becirovic said that Bosnia is an independent and sovereign state, a full member of the UN, which respects the fundamental principles on which interstate relations are based.
“Respecting international and national law, Bosnia and Herzegovina will not watch silently as its sovereignty and territorial integrity are threatened. Separatist policies and threats are unacceptable and represent a direct threat to regional and global peace and security. The sanctioning of anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional policies in BiH should and must be more decisive,” he noted.
The Presidency Chairman clearly said that the authorities will institutionally stop all those who seek to destabilize the situation in the country.
He said that the international community, and especially the countries that witnessed the Dayton Peace Agreement, must stop the demolition of this agreement, the undermining of the Constitution of BiH and threats to peace.
Quinte ambassadors particularly noted that the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina are unquestionable and that they are guaranteed by the Dayton Peace Agreement and international law.
They pointed out that they will not calmly observe the anti-Dayton activities of the authorities in the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, that democratic, multi-ethnic and Euro-Atlantic BiH has no alternative, and that policies of ethnic and other divisions are doomed to failure.
The common conclusion of those present at the meeting held in the BiH Presidency is that no one will be allowed to destroy the Dayton Peace Agreement, constitutional order and peace, and that they will resolutely oppose anyone who tries to destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All those present expressed their countries’ support for the adoption of the resolution on July 11 as an international day of remembrance and commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995.
They assessed the resolution as a civilizational asset that pays respect to the victims of genocide.
The interlocutors said that EUFOR is ready to protect the peace and security of BiH citizens throughout the country’s territory.
