On the day of the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, October 2, as well as in the days leading up to the election and after, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina received and recorded a certain number of reports related to alleged illegal activities and irregularities in the electoral process.
The state Prosecutor’s Office told the Fena news agency that it received numerous such reports from the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), as well as from citizens and that it is investigating them together with partner institutions and agencies. It said, however, that all the reports regarding the election process for the entity government levels are within the competencies of entity judicial institutions and police agencies.
This means that issues regarding the election process for the president of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity are within the competence of the RS Prosecutor's Office and that the BiH Prosecutor's Office will provide all kinds of assistance and help in accordance with the law.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office and SIPA received and registered a total of 27 reports from citizens related to the election process on the day of the General Elections.
It said that the reports came from citizens or institutions alleging violations of public order and peace at the polling stations, election irregularities related to possible criminal acts, as well as various developments and incidents related to the election process.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office also received several reports including allegations of illegal activities related to voter registration, irregularities regarding voting abroad, influence on the electoral will of citizens and other illegal activities ahead of the elections.
