The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nesic, who was detained over alleged corruption this week, was hospitalized at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo due to high blood pressure on Saturday.
Nesic was hospitalized following a hearing at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the Prosecutor’s Office’s request for the detention of him, Mladen Lucic, and the director of “Putevi Republike Srpske” Milan Dakic, on charges of corruption-related criminal offenses.
Earlier in the morning, prior to the hearing, Nesic experienced health issues related to the same condition and received medical assistance.
During the hearing, the defense proposed that the court impose precautionary measures on the suspects instead of detention, a proposal opposed by prosecutor Bojana Jolovic.
Pre-trial judge Bojana Cukovic stated that the court would decide on the Prosecutor’s Office’s request as well as the defense’s objections to the request.
