On September 2, 2024, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Ambassador to the European Union, Obrad Kesic, and the European Commission's Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, signed an agreement in Brussels for Bosnia and Herzegovina to participate in the Justice program.

The program, running from 2021 to 2027, will provide Bosnia and Herzegovina with access to EU funding for judicial projects retroactively from July 1, 2023.

This partnership allows judicial bodies and other stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to apply for EU funding under the same conditions as EU member states and other associated territories. The program aims to strengthen the rule of law, judicial independence, and efficiency in both civil and criminal matters, while also promoting access to justice, judicial cooperation, and EU legal standards.

The program covers several key areas, including legal training, e-justice, and support for the rights of crime victims and defendants, as outlined by the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
