The sanctioned individuals and entities are primarily linked to Russia’s military-industrial complex and the so-called shadow fleet, which Russia uses to circumvent international restrictions and export energy products.
Along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, and Ukraine have aligned themselves with the EU Council decision.
These countries have committed to aligning their national policies with the European Union decision and ensuring its implementation.
The European Union welcomed their decision and commitment, according to a statement by the EU High Representative issued on behalf of the Union.
The restrictive measures are part of the European Union’s response to actions that undermine Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.
