Bosnia police prevent smuggling of 38 illegal migrants into Croatia

While conducting intensified surveillance of the border area along the Sava River, police officers stopped a truck in Draksenic, near the Donja Gradina–Jasenovac border crossing.

The truck was transporting timber, but upon inspecting the cargo area, officers discovered as many as 38 people hidden among the load.

Among them were 25 Chinese nationals, 12 Turkish nationals and one Iraqi national.

The truck driver, who was identified as a citizen of Montenegro, was arrested and handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with a criminal complaint charging him with people smuggling.
