Bosnian academic Zarko Papic has passed away, at the age of 77.
Papic struggled with a serious illness for a long time, and his health condition worsened in the last months. He died in Sarajevo on July 22.

Zarko Papic was born on January 14, 1947 in Sarajevo.
He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and did his postgraduate studies in Belgrade, where he received his doctorate. He published a number of books in the field of economics, and political systems, over a hundred scientific papers and more than 150 articles in professional magazines and newspapers, domestic and foreign.
He served as ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the former Yugoslavia, ambassador to the OECD and head of the permanent delegation of Yugoslavia to the OECD in Paris, and adviser to the OECD.
After 1992, he was a visiting professor at the American University in Paris, and from 1996 he was senior advisor and director of IBHI (Independent Bureau for Humanitarian Affairs) in Sarajevo.
Papic will remain respected and remembered for his numerous and regular comments on various issues related to the social, political, and economic life of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
