It is necessary to “correct the mistakes" that the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement produced in Bosnia and to create a society in the country where everyone is equal before the law and has the same rights, the head of Bosnia’s Roman Catholic Church and the EU Special Representative in the country agreed in a meeting.
Archbishop Vinko Puljic and EU representative Johann Sattler met to discuss the current situation in the country. Sattler also congratulated Christmass to Puljic and thanked him for his work in “building bridges” between the peoples in the country, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vrhbosna said in a statement.
They also agreed that “things can move forward despite the existing complicated arrangement” of the country.
The two spoke about the migrant crisis in Bosnia and according to the Archdiocese, Sattler thanked Puljic for recently “raising his voice and speaking of human dignity that every person deserves.”
They concluded that the problem must be solved and that it is necessary to create basic and humane conditions for the migrants.
