The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), which built Peljesac Bridge in Croatia, has won the job of building a 5.1 kilometre section of the motorway on Corridor 5C to connect Mostar, southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the rest of that pan-European transport corridor, which ends at Ploce, Croatia.

A contract on the construction of the Kvanj-Buna motorway subsection was signed in Mostar by representatives of the Autoceste Federacije BiH public company, a consortium led by CRBC, and the BiH Federation entity authorities, Autoceste Federacije BiH reported.

Autoceste Federacije BiH CEO Denis Lasic said that another contract, for the construction of the Mostar South – Kvanj Tunnel section, to connect the city with the southern part of Corridor 5C, would be signed over the next month.

CRBC has so far built Pelješac Bridge in Croatia and a motorway section in Montenegro.

The value of the Kvanj-Buna project is €125.2 million and it will be financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and EU grants.

The section is expected to be completed by spring 2027.
