The case of Ajdin Jusic (2009), a minor boy from the town of Mahala in the municipality of Osmaci, has attracted much attention today from the Bosnian public.

Namely, the minor boy from Mahala, claims that the police officers of the Republika Srpska Interior Ministry brutally beat him up in the Osmaci police station, demanding that he confess to a crime he knew nothing.

Ajdin and his father Juso’s confession was published on the Facebook page of Kanal 21. Ajdin's father Juso is outraged by the approach of the RS police and demands that the entire case be investigated.

“Around nine o'clock, I received a call to come to the police station. My father and I came and they separated us into two rooms. They forced me to admit that I did something that I didn't. They put weapons on my table, handcuffed me, knocked me down, hit me, broke my fingers… In the end, they wanted to take me somewhere… They put me in a police car, took me somewhere, went around something and finally dragged me in front of the house”, Ajdin told Kanal 21.

According to Ajdin's father, the boy was detained for an interview but was not a suspect.

“However, instead of talking to him in my presence, the RS MoI officials decided to use violence to force a confession from the boy, taking him to a separate room,” Juso said.

Ajdin claims that he was exposed to physical violence by a police officer, which left him with physical and emotional trauma.

On returning home, Ajdin stated that he was scared, shaken and lost consciousness, and sought medical help.

In their press release, the RS MoI stated that the the Zvornik Police Department received a report filed by J.J. at around 8:50 am Wednesday saying that the police officers of the Osmaci Police Station “acted illegally when taking a statement from a minor.”

The police officers informed the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina about the incident, under whose supervision all measures and actions are taken in order to determine the factual situation.

“The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska condemns all forms of violent behaviour, and accordingly, if the responsibility of police officers is proven, they will be dealt with in accordance with the law, in terms of initiating disciplinary and criminal liability,” the Ministry said.
