Consumer prices in Bosnia rise by 2% Year-over-Year

The prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the consumer price index, increased by an average of 0.1% in April compared to the previous month, and by 2% on a yearly basis. Pročitaj više

From March to April, the highest price increases were observed in restaurants and hotels by 0.7%, followed by healthcare, clothing and footwear, and recreation and culture, each by 0.5%. Food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and communications each saw a 0.2% increase on average.

On the other hand, average price decreases were recorded in housing and utilities by 0.5%, and in furniture, household appliances, and regular house maintenance by 0.7%, according to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Agency for Statistics.

Comparing April this year to April of the previous year, prices increased by 2%. The cost of services and products in restaurants and hotels rose by an average of 8.8%, while other goods and services went up by 5.7%. Prices in the recreation and culture sector increased by 4.5%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco saw a 3.9% rise.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks were 1.2% more expensive year-over-year, furniture, household appliances, and regular house maintenance rose by 2.2%, healthcare by 3.5%, transportation by 3.1%, and communications by 1.7%.

The average price decrease was noted in clothing and footwear by 7.3%, and in housing and utilities by 0.2%.
