Over the last 24 hours, 16 patients died from COVID-19-related complications and out of 16,743 tested, 4,157 people were infected with the coronavirus, Serbia's Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

To date, COVID-19 claimed a total of 4,475 lives with a mortality rate of 0.96 percent.

On Tuesday, 4,031 patients were hospitalised, of whom 164 on ventilators.

Since the epidemic outbreak in March last year, 2,970,536 people have been tested, and 466,885 samples have returned positive for the new virus.
