Croatia provides €9.5m for projects in interest of BiH Croats

The Central State Office for Croats Abroad has announced a public tender worth €9.5 million for the funding of educational, scientific, cultural, healthcare, agricultural and other programmes and projects of interest to the Croat people in Bosnia and Herzegovina for this year.

By 16 May, legal entities based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as individuals residing and domiciled in the country and registered in the agricultural sector in accordance with national regulations, may apply for these funds.

Some of the priority areas for which legal entities may submit project applications and receive funding include infrastructure programmes and projects; the construction, renovation and equipping of cultural institutions, as well as those providing educational, healthcare and social services; the procurement of medical equipment; the protection and restoration of cultural monuments; support for major cultural events; and assistance to public media outlets publishing in the Croatian language.

Legal entities based in Bosnia and Herzegovina may also apply for projects aimed at supporting crop farming, livestock breeding, fruit growing, the purchase of agricultural machinery, the planting of perennial crops, and so on. This type of support is also available to individuals based in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The State Office highlights that priority will be given to projects with a longer-term impact on the sustainability of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, cross-border cooperation projects with Croatia, those financially supported by the local community, as well as projects that create and preserve jobs and demonstrate clear feasibility and sustainability.
