Authorities in Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity declared a Day of Mourning over the death of seven people, including children, who passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning in a fire last week in the northeastern Brcko District.
The day of mourning is marked by the obligatory display of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina on half-mast on FBiH Government buildings, while cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places across FBiH and media houses are obliged to harmonize and adjust their program contents.
Six people initially died in the fire, but another victim, a five-year-old boy, passed away at the hospital two days later.
The fire took place in a house in Brcko on Saturday.
