Speaking to N1, BiH Presidency Chair Denis Becirovic welcomed Thursday’s vote at the UN General Assembly where the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica was adopted, adding that he will invite Serbia’s Vucic to turn a new leaf in relations between the two countries.
“Today, truth and justice won in the United Nations General Assembly. These are court verdicts that cannot be erased from the history of the United Nations and humanity, and today it was confirmed in the UN General Assembly,” he said.
Speaking to N1, Becirovic used the opportunity to invite Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to “turn a new leaf” in the relations between the two countries.
“To declare the 21st century the century of peace in the Western Balkans. This Resolution should be an opportunity for catharsis in the region, and not for any tensions,” Becirovic noted.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the United Nations General Assembly again after the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica was adopted, and on that occasion, he said “Starting tomorrow we will start a dialogue with our Bosniak compatriots.”
“We will not only maintain the peace and stability of my country, but we will work to develop peace,” Vuic said.
