Bosnia’s Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic addressed the public after the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica was adopted by the UN General Assembly pointing out that he is truly happy that the truth won. He also announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina would send a note of protest to all the countries that voted against the resolution- 19 of them.

“Today, the facts from the verdicts of international courts have won, and from now on the whole world will first of all remember the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly, starting from next year on July 11. This will raise awareness of that event all over the world in all civilized countries. This Resolution sends an ever clearer message to those denying genocide and celebrating war crimes and war criminals,” Konakovic said.

He also sent a message to those who threatened destabilization in BiH and the region.

“Those who threatened destabilization in BiH and the region, and those who were the only ones who spoke about collective guilt, I mean Aleksandar Vucic, Milorad Dodik and several other officials of the RS and Serbia, when this resolution begins to be applied, they will have to explain to their people why they pushed it into the concept of collective responsibility and guilt and why they invented theses about war damage and why they twisted the facts to try to stop the civilizational process,” Konakovic pointed out.

He added that Serbian President Vucic tried to minimize the big world powers and small states by talking about subjugation to the big world powers – these are the consequences for which he will have to answer first of all to the public of Serbia and people who are interested in this topic in the right way.
