Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik slammed Presidency Chairman and its Croat member Zeljko Komsic, over the speech he delivered at the UN General Assembly's session on Wednesday and for his attendance of this event, claiming that Komsic did not speak there on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also criticised UN Secretary-General for accepting Komsic as BiH's official representative in the event, accusing him of involvement in a potential dissolution of the country.
“There is no decision unless it is made in consensus. There is no such decision that he goes there and gives a speech. So, it is all a private thing. The problem emerges when he speaks on behalf of BiH and when the Secretary-General accepts him,” said Dodik, adding that UN Secretary-General can be accused of “being involved in the dissolution of Bosnia and Herzegovina” because of this.
“One day when history is written, it will be said that the UN Secretary-General welcomed in a private visit the man who defamed others in BiH and that this contributed to misunderstanding, non-reconciliation, non-functioning of BiH, which is why it fell apart,” Dodik told reporters in Budapest, hours after Komsic delivered the speech in New York.
Asked to comment on Komsic's earlier statement that Dodik was not needed for the functioning of BiH, the Serb Presidency member said Komsic is free to say anything he likes but that the Constitution prescribes the procedures and that the Presidency consists of three members.
