According to the Serb member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, the US Ambassador in BiH is continuously working against Serbs in Bosnia and his “interference” in the country's internal affairs must stop.

Dodik commented on Ambassador Eric Nelson’s statement that sanctions could be introduced for politicians who undermine progress in the Western Balkans and for those who support them in those efforts.

“It's enough, it has to stop here, Mr. Nelson, don't you think this applies to you as well? Enough of your interference in the internal affairs of the country in which you are serving as ambassador,” Dodik said.

The leader of the ruling party in Bosnia’s Serb-majority Republika Srpska (RS) entity criticised Nelson arguing that he remains silent “when others slander Serbs calling them bad people and call them ‘genocidal’, but is very vocal when, in his opinion, something is allegedly being said about others.”

He argued that Nelson does not react when representatives of other ethnic groups say they are collecting arms in order to be prepared for whatever might happen – referring to statements of the leader of the main Bosniak party in the country, Bakir Izetbegovic.

“Enough of you bringing us illegal international governors, enough of you pretending that you are protecting the Dayton Agreement, while you are massively violating all its provisions,” he said, adding that Nelson pretends to be a promoter of democracy but continuously supports the practice of imposing laws in BiH by “unelected foreigners,” referring to the High Representative in Bosnia who is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement.
