N1: The first match of the Coppa Italia competition was finished with a draw against Juventus. Is Inter capable of winning the trophy this season?

I already won a trophy with Inter this season, but the goal of every season is winning trophies. I won three trophies as a player of Inter and I know how important it is for clubs like Inter to constantly be a part of the race for titles. The result of the first match against Juventus is still active and we must perform even better at home, so we can reach the finals and then the title of the best team in Coppa Italia. I am hoping for that.

N1: Following that match you were overwhelmed and showed it to the fans, throwing your jersey to the crowd. How did that happen?

Some things were happening during the match that shouldn't be happening on the field, which has already been discussed. Our fans were showing support throughout the match and I wanted to thank them in that way. I felt at that moment that giving my jersey is the least I could do and thank them for the support in the away game. We have had a good relationship since the day one and I am grateful for that.

N1: There is a lot of talk about your contract with Inter. Could you tell us what is happening at the moment and how close to the deal you are?

Everything will be known very soon. There are people taking care of that and I am only focusing on the games and the pitch.”

N1: There is also a possibility of you playing in the Champions League if Inter beats Benfica. When you think of your beginnings in Bosnia and Herzegovina and where are you now, playing elite European football, how proud it makes you about everything you have done in your career?

Just a few days ago I spoke about that, about all the things I had to go through to be where I am now and, of course, I am proud of everything, my beginnings as a kid in FC Zeljeznicar. One day, when time for that comes, my career will end and we will talk about everything I did. Could it be better?, maybe different?, but I know for sure, and that's what I think about very often, is that I am happy I managed to build such career.

N1: You proved once again that you are the undisputed leader of the national team, playing despite injuries. Could you take us to the EURO 2024?

Football is not one person. Football means a team, a family, and only united we can go to the European championship. When I say the team, I mean all the people in the national team from the players, the head coach, other staff… It is clear that we all wish to play in one big competition. That is maybe the only thing missing, the feeling of playing with the national team in big competitions. I experienced almost everything else, but I believe we could play in one more big competition, not only one world cup. I will do my best to take us to EURO and help as much as I can. I know how much we all want that.
