Elvis Custendil, a police officer of Tuzla Canton Interior Ministry, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of Amra Kahrimanovic (52), which he committed on February 7 this year in a shopping centre in Brcanska Malta.
The Cantonal Court sentenced Custendil after pleading guilty at the hearing on June 5, waiving his right to a trial. There is a right to appeal the verdict.
The defendant's decision ordered the extension of detention, which can last for 9 months or until being sent to serve the prison sentence.
Custendil caused problems before the murder, causing the police to intervene then as well. A little later, Custendil killed the owner of the building with his police pistol, while in an intoxicated state. He fired 16 rounds that night. He should not have had the gun with him because he was on vacation at the time.
Custendil has been a policeman for 30 years, he was an assistant commander, an inspector, and finally, a duty officer in the operations centre.
After committing the murder, he ran away, but the police quickly found him.
