General Director of EPBiH, Sanel Buljubasic, emphasised that their goal is to ensure a reliable and secure electricity supply while at the same time meeting European Union requirements and adapting to market rules.
"EPBiH has prepared renewable energy projects, but numerous administrative barriers and regulatory inconsistencies, from the level of local communities to the state level, are slowing down or completely blocking project implementation. We see the solution in creating a special legal framework that will accompany the decarbonization process and the gradual transition to renewable energy sources through the ongoing just transition, by creating conditions for the large-scale construction of new production facilities that are urgently needed," said Buljubasic.
He stressed the importance of joint action by the three power utilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the two competent ministries.
