The European perspective of the Western Balkans remains both the EU and US priority, Josep Borell, the EU High Representative, said on Thursday after the meeting with US State Secretary Antony Blinken a day before in Brussels.

“We’ll work together, avoiding mutual rivalry to support the reconciliation and improvement of the management, build resilience and push towards key reforms that will enable the integration with the EU,” Blinken said, according to the State Department statement.

The two agreed that the “strong EU and US partnership is crucial in supporting democratic values, global and regional stability and progress in solving the issues.”
