
In December 2025, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded exports totalling 915,012,000 Bosniani marks (approximately €467,835,000), representing a minor monthly decline of 0.1 percent. Despite this slight dip compared to November, the figure reflects a robust year-on-year growth of 12.1 percent.

Conversely, imports surged to 1,765,336,000 marks (approximately €902,601,000) during the same period. This marks a 4.0 percent increase from the previous month and a 4.4 percent rise compared to December 2024. For the entirety of 2025, exports maintained a stronger average monthly growth rate of 0.95 percent, while imports rose by a more modest average of 0.36 percent.
The widening gap between trade flows resulted in a trade deficit of 850,324,000 marks (approximately €434,766,000) for December. Consequently, the export-to-import coverage ratio fell to 51.8 percent, a decrease from the 54 percent recorded in November.
According to the FBiH Bureau of Statistics, the entity's primary export markets remain Croatia, Germany, and Austria. On the other side of the ledger, Italy, China, and Germany were identified as the leading sources of imported goods.
