The House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Parliament discussed the Social and Child Protection Development Strategy at today's session in Sarajevo.
It was emphasized that the Social and Child Protection Development Strategy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, being adopted for the first time, aims primarily to combat poverty and social exclusion of children and families with children.
Key elements of the strategy include the deinstitutionalization of care for children and individuals in social need, as well as strengthening mechanisms to reduce poverty and the risk of poverty in society.
Adnan Delic, the responsible minister, explained that the strategy contains three main goals: reducing poverty and mitigating its consequences, empowering and accelerating the inclusion of marginalized individuals and groups, and strengthening institutional mechanisms and capacities.
He added that within the first strategic goal, two priorities are defined: preventive action to reduce the risk of poverty and decreasing the degree of exposure to the consequences of poverty.
Delic mentioned that within the second goal, two priorities are defined: the prevention of institutionalization and the strengthening of the deinstitutionalization process.
He emphasized that the priorities of the third goal are to redefine and reorganize the institutional mechanisms of the social and child protection system, as well as to strengthen the capacities of institutions within the social protection system and measures to achieve strategic priorities.
