Fire near Mostar’s Uborak landfill localized and under control

After a major effort, the fire was extinguished by firefighters from the Professional Firefighting Unit of Mostar, as confirmed by the Operations Center of the Civil Protection and Firefighting Administration of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.

Civil Protection authorities reminded the public that the Decision declaring a technical-technological emergency for the City of Mostar remains in effect. The decision was issued following the outbreak of a major fire at the Uborak landfill on June 22.

The Civil Protection Headquarters reiterated its appeal to citizens to follow previously issued preventive recommendations to protect health and safety, and to monitor official announcements and further instructions from the relevant authorities.
