HDZ leader confident FBiH entity will get a new govt by April 6

Dragan Čović (N1)

Following the Croat National Assembly (HNS) session in Mostar, Dragan Covic, the leader of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) and the said association of Croat parties gathered around the HDZ, said he will meet the Social Democratic party (SDP) leader Nermin Niksic on March 24, in Mostar, where they will discuss future cooperation between the HDZ and their coalition partners known as the “Troika plus.”

He also stated that the plan is to complete the appointment of authorities at all levels by the end of April.

“We will make an agreement and define the relations between the two party blocs, regardless of whether it is about departments or some other relations. In this regard, we have provided the information and how we see the dynamics concerning the cantons that have not made the appointments. It is estimated that by the end of the fourth month, we will have everything completed,” Covic said.

The HDZ leader also commented on the new announcement by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik about secession.

“I have already said that I’m in favour of creating an environment in which we will make decisions in peace so that a statement on one side always receives an answer from the other side. And we shouldn’t fall for those spins, no one should drag us into that discussion. These are the topics that should be dealt with in the right place, and we from the executive and legislative authorities should deal with the future, electoral law, reforms, agriculture, fiscal problems, and energy. We want to send clear answers to that. The final deadline for the establishment of the FBiH Government, which I think will be respected, is April 6,” Covic concluded.
