The procurement concerns six new aircraft that will significantly enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"The power and precision of these aircraft confirm that the Armed Forces are entering a completely new era. This is not just a procurement; this is a historic breakthrough. For the first time in our history, we are acquiring brand-new helicopters. It is the largest investment in the Armed Forces so far and a clear demonstration of our determination to build strong, modern, and ready armed forces," Helez emphasized.
He particularly noted that the helicopters come fully equipped, including state-of-the-art rescue systems, meaning that not only military capabilities are being strengthened, but also the ability to protect citizens in crisis and emergencies.
Leonardo, one of the global leaders in this field, employs more than 60,000 people, has produced around 4,500 aircraft, and operates in more than 170 countries worldwide, making it synonymous with top-tier technology, reliability, and safety.
The contract also includes training for 12 BiH pilots in Philadelphia, while three additional pilots will be trained as instructors. The Armed Forces will also receive flight simulators, spare parts, regular maintenance, and all accompanying equipment.
Deputy Defense Minister Aleksandar Goganovic, who is also part of the BiH delegation, said that the new helicopters will serve all citizens, emphasizing that all peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina will benefit from the project, announced the Ministry of Defense.
