Komsic warns foreign powers: If they don’t stop Dodik, Bosnians will

The people threatening Bosnia’s existence never stopped what they were doing and if the foreigners do not stop Milorad Dodik, the Bosnian Serb Presidency member, we will be forced to stop him ourselves, Croat Presidency member Zeljko Komsic told the local portal Radiosarajevo.ba.

“I needn’t even mention whom I’m talking about, they’ll know. However, despite all the attacks on Bosnia and Herzegovina, it has survived and it will survive. We can do it and I have no doubt at all that we will do everything in that regard. All the worst that could have happened to a state and its citizens has already happened, starting from the aggression, genocide and atrocities that the history of mankind hasn’t seen before. The enemies of the state have killed the fear in us and that is what they should think about if they decide to attack the state and its citizens. We’re not paralyzed by fear, except for the rare ones that want to present their personal comfort as people’s indifference to the fate of the country,” Zeljko Komsic, the Chairman of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency said for Radiosarajevo.ba.

He noted that he would not allow for institutions to be traded with like on some kind of marketplace, so that “highway robbers like Dodik would bargain with them.”

“Foreigners, whether our friends or enemies, must know that. We will not negotiate with the highway robber about the existence of institutions whose formation was carried out in accordance with the Constitution and the law in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I have said it once before, and I will say it again. Foreigners better stop Dodik, before we stop him. If they don't stop him, we will have no choice but to stop him ourselves. He risked peace in the region and Europe. We will not gamble with our state,” Komsic concluded.
Milorad Dodik announced the withdrawal of the Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity from several key state institutions, such as the Indirect Taxation Authority, Armed Forces and Judiciary, as well as to abolish over 140 state laws imposed by High Representatives over the past 26 years, making them void in the RS.

On December 10, the RS parliament held a session at which it adopted several conclusions putting in motion the said plans and ordering the RS Government to start preparing laws for their withdrawal of consents from state institutions as well as the transfer of state competencies to the entity, within six months after the adoption of the conclusions.
