The upcoming local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for Sunday, may be postponed due to severe flooding in northern Herzegovina.
Central Election Commission (CEC) President Irena Hadziabdic stated that while no final decision has been made, discussions are ongoing with local electoral commissions in the hardest-hit areas, including Jablanica, Konjic, and Fojnica. Landslides and blocked roads have made communication difficult in these regions.
Hadziabdic clarified that elections may still proceed in most parts of the country, with a final decision expected by Saturday. If voting cannot take place at certain polling stations on Sunday, it will be rescheduled within 7 to 30 days after October 6.
