The Montenegrin Parliament on Tuesday morning voted in the country’s new Government.
Out of the total of 66 deputies present, 46 voted in favor of the new Government, 19 voted against, and there was one abstention, said N1’s reporter from the capital of Podgorica.
The new Montenegrin Government will be led by Milojko Spajic of the Europe Now Movement (PES).
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic congratulated Spajic on his election as Prime Minister.
“I hope our two countries will continue deepening cooperation, working on improving our citizens’ standard of living and strengthening regional ties,” Brnabic said on a post on X.
In his first statement following the election of the new Government, Prime Minister Spajic said that Belgrade will have “zero” influence in it.
Asked to what extent Belgrade influenced the formation of the Government, he replied: “as much.”
Spajic is to meet Tuesday with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen who is on a four-day tour of the Western Balkans countries.
