The House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly rejected the request for the dismissal of Sifet Podzic, the Defence Minister of BiH.
Twenty deputies were against the dismissal of Minister Podzic.
Out of the 27 deputies present at the session, seven deputies voted in favour of the decision, while there were no abstentions.
One of the deputies, Damir Arnaut, asked for a new vote, because “it was not clear to him why some Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) deputies did not vote at all.”
“My intentions were sincere, I wanted to protect the health of our soldiers. That week we had two funerals for members of the Armed Forces, due to the consequences of COVID-19. This has gone too far with the attempt to dismiss me,” the state Defence Minister concluded after the session.
The BiH House of Representatives discussed the confirmation of the dismissal of the Minister of Defence, Sifet Podzic.
Zoran Tegeltija, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers (as the BiH government is officially called) made the decision to dismiss Podzic after he decided to postpone the joint military exercise between the BiH Armed Forces and the Serbian Army in Manjaca training ground, from October 9th to 16th.
