The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sentenced Mustafa Stovrag to three years in prison in a first-instance verdict for crimes against prisoners of war committed in Gorazde in 1993.
He was found guilty of beating three prisoners at the military-investigative prison of the East Bosnia Operational Group in Gorazde while serving as a member of the Gorazde Public Security Station, causing them severe physical pain.
Stovrag was initially charged in 2019, alongside Camil Ramic and others, but the case against him was separated due to his health condition. In December 2023, court experts confirmed that the accused was fit to attend court proceedings.
The trial against Stovrag began in February 2024.
The verdict is subject to appeal before the Appellate Panel of the State Court, BIRN BiH reports.
