N1, Nova, Radar, and Danas management teams submit official bid to acquire United Group media outlets

The board of N1 Group and its partner newsrooms Nova S, Nova.rs, Danas, and Radar sent a formal offer to the outlets’ owners, BC Partners and United Group, to acquire 100 percent ownership of their news media in Serbia and the region.

The proposal was delivered to the board of directors of Summer Parent S.à r.l, accompanied by a letter in which the management emphasizes that the goal of the takeover is to safeguard the independence, stability, and professional standards these newsrooms have built over the past decade.

According to the bid, the teams believe this arrangement is the best way to ensure the continued operation of the outlets and maintain audience trust, while allowing United Group to cleanly exit a business segment that lies outside its core telecommunications and subscription services.

The offer also states that the process could be finalized quickly, subject to approval from the relevant regulator in Luxembourg.

Representatives from the newsrooms say they are confident this move is “the most responsible and stable path to protect the editorial independence and the long-term sustainability” of the media that, over the past ten years, have become vital platforms providing independent and professional information to the citizens of the region.
