Federation (FBiH) entity Prime Minister Nermin Niksic said on Thursday in Sarajevo that BH Telecom should be the engine of technological development in BiH, as Energoinvest once was.

At the annual BH Telecom press conference, Niksic said that this is especially expected in the digitization process so that the company can provide the most state-of-the-art technologies and the best services for all citizens.

”The BH Telecom management will have the full support of the FBiH Government to continue with investments and development of the company,” Niksic said.

He pointed out that the FBiH Government has never had the intention to privatize BH Telecom and that no one should come and suggest such a thing.

Niksic recalled that in the last 10 years, BH Telecom paid over 1.5 billion Bosnian marks through its operations, into various state budgets and funds and it never affected their investments, so they invested over 800 million marks in development in the same period.

He noted that one should especially appreciate that, as a socially responsible company, BH Telecom was the sponsor of numerous BiH national teams, as well as sports and cultural groups and events.
