OIC ministers in Istanbul reach conclusion on BiH: Condemnation of 'destructive policies' of RS entity leadership

Foreign ministers and heads of delegations of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) gathered in Istanbul over the weekend for the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), with the focus of the meeting being the escalation of the situation in the Middle East. The ministers adopted conclusions after the session, one of which concerns Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The participants in the meeting expressed "deep concern" about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely "the destructive policies pursued by the leadership of Republika Srpska entity."

The conclusion concerning Bosnia and Herzegovina also reads that the RS entity "thereby undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and posing a serious threat to the foundations of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional and institutional order."

The meeting in Istanbul called on the international partners to collaborate in ensuring adherence to the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BiH has observer status in the OIC, which was granted to the country in 1994.
