One person died, while, according to doctors, more than 30 received medical assistance, after a bus overturned on the highway near Leskovac, Serbia, on Sunday.

The accident happened around 5:25 am, and the bus was carrying passengers, mostly from Novi Sad, who were returning from a vacation in Greece.

The ambulance team transferred the injured persons to the hospital in Leskovac, while the more seriously injured were treated at the Clinical Centre in Nis.

According to doctor Goran Stanojevic, assistant director of the Nis Clinical Centre, 16 passengers were examined in that institution, and 12 were released for home treatment.

Among the injured, two children were treated at the Clinical Center in Nis, one of whom was kept for further treatment. One man with open fractures was also operated on, and his condition, they say, is stable.

The media also report that the woman who was the road leader was killed.
