According to world media reports, Brussels is considering a possible complete halt or cancellation of the EU enlargement process to the Western Balkans. John O’Brennan, a professor at Maynooth University in Ireland, has been working on enlargement issues for decades and is very familiar with developments in the region. In an interview with N1’s Esmir Milavic, O'Brennan noted that Brussels must play a more significant role. He warned of the dangers lurking in relations within the European Union itself, but also hinted at problems in relations with people like Serbia’s Aleksandar Vucic and similar leaders in the region. The professor also talked about the moment when Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic reminded him of Slobodan Milosevic.
