Ryanair representative Jason McGuinness said “this is one of those days where we announce good news and change cities. We are delighted to announce five new routes and 200,000 passengers per year today, and this is just the beginning of our journey. For too long, Sarajevo was under the siege of expensive airlines, that is changing today. New flights start from April”.

“We have new destinations that will be provided by Ryanair, the largest European airline because they fly to 40 countries, 230 airports and have over 3 thousand operations per day. Thank you to the Sarajevo Canton, which recognized that subsidizing the Airport is an investment. What you can expect from the Administration is that, together with employees and supporting services, we will work on the realization of strategic goals, maintain a leadership position in Bosnia and Herzegovina, expand the network of destinations, 30 of which are towards the EU, and continue infrastructure construction,” said the director of Sarajevo International Sirport, Alan Bajic.

On Thursday, the Federation (FBiH) entity Government made a decision on the payment of grant funds to airports in the FBiH. The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, invited other large world companies to invest as well.
