Self-Determination Movement maintains strong lead in Kosovo early election

Based on 54 percent of the votes counted in the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo, according to official data from the Central Election Commission, the Self-Determination Movement leads with 48.26 percent of the vote, the Anadolu Agency reported.

According to the data, which is constantly being updated on the website of the CEC, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) is in second place with 18.27 percent, while the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (LDK) is third with 13.67 percent of votes.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) is fourth with 7.96 per cent of the vote, while the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma has) 2.59 per cent.

Kosovo’s Central Election Commission said that the turnout was 47 percent.

The eighth parliamentary elections in Kosovo since 1999 were held in Kosovo today, with the participation of 21 political parties, two coalitions and five civic initiatives.

A total of 1,052 candidates ran for the 120 seats in the Kosovo Parliament.

A total of 1,794,862 people have the right to vote at 888 voting centres with a total of 2,382 polling stations in the early parliamentary election.
