Serbian lawyers held a protest in the centre of Belgrade, in front of the headquarters of the Serbian Bar Association, over the position of the Supreme Court of Cassation on the collection of loan processing and insurance costs.
The Board of Directors of the Serbian Bar Association also voted for a two-day suspension of the lawyer's work, on October 20 and 21.
Lawyer Dragoslav Ljubicanovic, a member of the Barr Association’s Board of Directors, told N1 that they persistently say that their problem is not the position of the Supreme Court of Cassation, but that “this change of attitude is being done in a strange and legally non-existent way.”
“If there is no public attention, we will get a new court practice slip through that will be detrimental to citizens, and contrary to the practice in Serbia,” he said.
