Serbian media: Lavrov to visit Belgrade next month

According to the portal’s sources, Lavrov will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic just three days before the scheduled visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the first visit since Russia invaded Ukraine. The visit comes prior to talks between Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin on natural gas supplies.

Lavrov’s most recent visit to Belgrade was in October 2021.

Serbia has been under pressure from both Russia and the West over the sanctions imposed against Moscow by the European Union.
