Serbia’s Ministry of Defense invited all interested young men and women who want to apply for voluntary military service to submit their applications at the centres of the Ministry of Defense and said that already in September of this year, they will have the opportunity to join the Serbian Armed Forces.

Also, according to the announcement, the application process for military training for reserve officers is ongoing.

“All registered candidates will have the opportunity to test their abilities, undergo dynamic military training and at the same time demonstrate patriotism and civic responsibility towards their country. Voluntary military service is also the shortest path to obtaining the title of a professional member of the Serbian Armed Forces”, the ministry said.

All able-bodied citizens of Serbia between 19 to 30 years old in 2023 and who have not previously served armed military service are eligible to apply.

Future soldiers can expect a monthly salary of around RSD 46,000 dinars. All those who, during voluntary service, decide to apply for the status of a professional soldier can expect shortened and simplified selection and admission procedures.
