Serbia's President, Aleksandar Vucic, was named Honorary Citizen of Banja Luka and is the recipient of the Key to the City, following a decision by the City Council on Tuesday.

Councillors adopted the decision unanimously and said they will invite the Serbian President to personally receive the award on April 22 – the Day of the City of Banja Luka.

The Council also adopted decisions to award numerous other people, as well as institutions, for their overall contributions to society.

Councillors expressed support for a proposal by Mayor Drasko Stanivukovic to introduce a new award to honour “extraordinary humane actions.”
