Former football star and national team's ex-captain Sergej Barbarez was officially appointed new head coach of the Bosnia national football team on Friday. Pročitaj više

Barbarez is replacing Savo Milosevic, who left the position earlier this week.

Former national team player recorded a total of 47 games and scored 17 goals in the period from 1998 to 2006. He debuted in the game against Argentina, and played his farewell match against Moldova.

He is the 15th head coach of the Bosnian team, haveing been preceded by Fuad Muzurovic, Faruk Hadzibegic, Meho Kodro, Dzemaludin Musovic, Avdo Kalajdzic, Denijal Piric, Miso Smajlovic, Blaz Sliskovic, Miroslav Ciro Blazevic, Safet Susic, Mehmed Bazdarevic, Robert Prosinecki, Dusan Bajevic, Ivaylo Petev and Savo Milosevic.

Barbarez played for FC Velez, Hannover, Union Berlin, Hansu Rostock, Borussia Dortmund, HSV and Bayer Leverkusen, with a total of 524 games in all competitions. He scored 164 goals throughout the career.
