According to media reports, the migrants took to the streets on Friday night, prompting officers from the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, including members of its intervention unit, to respond to the scene.

SIPA spokesperson Jelena Miovcic confirmed that agency officers were operating in the area under the instructions of the Prosecutor's Office and within their legal jurisdiction.

"Activities are ongoing in cooperation with the Service for Foreigners' Affairs and the Migrant Centre in Blazuj. We are acting on the orders of the Prosecutor's Office," Miovcic said.

According to available information, up to 60 individuals are being processed as part of the operation, although the exact number of arrests remains unknown.

SIPA said the situation on the ground was under control, with further details expected as the relevant authorities continue their activities.

The investigation concerns suspected human smuggling and the alleged formation of an organised criminal group for the purpose of smuggling migrants.
