Siroki Brijeg records highest number of returnees from abroad in West Herzegovina Canton

According to data from the WHC Employment Service, 100 returnees were registered throughout 2025, while 68 have been registered since the beginning of this year through August 20.

The highest number of returnees was recorded in Siroki Brijeg, with a total of 91. In 2025, 43 returnees were registered, while 48 had been registered by Aug. 20 this year, five more than during the entire previous year.

In Ljubuski, 51 returnees were registered during the period under review, including 41 in 2025 and 10 this year.

A total of 18 returnees were registered in Posusje, 11 last year and seven this year, while Grude recorded eight returnees, five in 2025 and three in 2026.

According to the Employment Service, the returnees came from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Croatia. Germany was listed in the records of all four branches, while returnees from Croatia were registered in Ljubuski and Posusje, those from Austria in Siroki Brijeg and Grude, and those from Switzerland in Siroki Brijeg and Ljubuski.

For Ljubuski and Posusje, the Employment Service also provided employment data. Of the 51 returnees registered in Ljubuski, 30 found employment, while in Posusje, six of the 18 registered returnees found jobs, two in 2025 and four in 2026.
