Severe thunderstorms swept through several Bosnian cities Friday morning. Trees fell in Srebrenica and Bihac, roofs flew off in Kotor Varos, and strong winds hit Banja Luka.
Strong winds caused a large pine tree to fall in the centre of Srebrenica. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
In the village of Vrbanjci near Kotor Varos, the wind caused significant damage to the buildings.
Also, damage was recorded in Bihac, where a strong wind broke trees in several locations across the city and caused greater material damage.
A storm accompanied by strong winds hit both Banja Luka and Prijedor this morning.
In its official statement, the FBiH Hydrometeorological Institute said that variable and unstable weather can be expected throughout BiH, occasionally with rain and even showers.
“More pronounced precipitation is likely on Friday (03.11.) and Sunday (05.11.) especially in the southern, southwestern and western areas. At the beginning of the next week (from 06.11.) slight stabilization of weather conditions can be expected. Light rain is still possible on Monday and Tuesday, and from Wednesday the weather will stabilize and precipitation will cease,” the statement said.
