Representatives of the Consortium Logistika held talks today with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska (RS), Savo Minic. They invited representatives of the governments of the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska, as well as the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to a joint meeting on Wednesday, March 25, in Gradiska at noon.

The President of the Consortium, Dino Durmic, said that the meeting at the RS Government, attended also by RS Minister of Transport and Communications Zoran Stevanovic, was constructive.

"We worked on certain technical issues, where Prime Minister Minic personally engaged to immediately resolve some problems within his jurisdiction," Durmic said.

He added that other issues fall under the responsibility of different institutions, which is why they are calling for talks with representatives of the Federation of BiH Government and the Council of Ministers of BiH.

RS Prime Minister Savo Minic stated that representatives of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), the ruling party in RS, of which he is a member, will be involved at all levels in resolving the issue.

"We also have a proposal to block the status of accession to the European Union until the problem faced by transport operators is resolved," Minic added.

He reiterated that the RS Government will not allow border blockades, and that it understands the initiative and accepts the Consortium’s invitation for the meeting on Wednesday.

RS police did not allow a border blockade this morning at the Gradiska border crossing, after the RS Government late last night adopted a conclusion obliging the Ministry of Interior to ensure the uninterrupted flow of traffic.

Transport operators gathered in the Consortium are protesting primarily due to restrictions on the stay of professional drivers in the EU, which they claim directly threaten the survival of the transport sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
